the practice
BODY OF WORK is a practice built from three disciplines to solve one very specific problem: what sitting, stress, and creative work do to your body.
I created Body of Work because I couldn't find it anywhere. As a Pilates teacher, Integrative Somatic Practitioner, and working writer, I needed a movement practice that understood the demands of life behind a desk.
The research is clear: long hours of sitting change the way your body moves. Hips tighten. Glutes switch off. Posture collapses. At the same time, the pressure of deadlines and constant mental focus keeps your nervous system in a chronic state of tension.
Body of Work addresses both.
Pilates restores strength, mobility, and support to the muscles that desk life leaves behind. Somatic movement helps calm the nervous system, release chronic tension, and reconnect you with your body.
Together, they help you move better, breathe deeper, and feel more like yourself again.

“I would absolutely come back! I broke a sweat and challenged myself, and also had so much fun. It felt like a perfect connection of mind body and soul.
This class is great for anyone with a desk job who sits most of the day. However I find it especially helpful for creatives, because you channel creative energy in the process and really take time to tune in and connect with yourself.”

“This class not only got my body moving and energy flowing, but it specifically calmed my nervous system and left me feeling rejuvenated.
As a creative, it helped to activate my brain, but truly would be beneficial to anyone in need of a joyful and active reset!”
Amy R., Writer
“Eileen’s class shook all that stagnant energy right out of my body and unlocked a whole new perspective! My mood lifted immediately after class and stayed that way.
I’d show up every single week. This practice is for everyone, but it’s pure magic for creatives who feel blocked and need to shake loose!”
Juliana F., Writer | Actor
“Eileen's class is phenomenal — the perfect way to get out of your head when you're hitting a wall with your writing. Before taking her class, I carried a lot of tension in my body, especially in my shoulders. Afterwards, it felt like a weight had lifted. Every single time, it shifted my mood for the better.
It's a fantastic way to wake up your body in the morning and step into your day with a newfound sense of peace.”

Why twice a week
This isn't a one-off stretch break. It's a rhythm your body starts to expect and rely on, twice weekly, so the tightness, the slump, and the stiff neck from hours at your desk don't get the chance to set back in.
